How It All Started
From one mother’s passion to a shared celebration
It began with Lily
My Dear & Me Dresses was founded by Rachel and David Garwood, together with their children. The spark came from their eldest daughter, Lily.
Lily watched her mother, Rachel, reach again and again for the same kind of dress — soft, easy to move in, quietly pretty, and made for real days of mothering. She saw how much joy Rachel found in wearing something that felt like herself while still matching the energy of her little ones.
One day Lily simply said what felt obvious to her: “You should make these for other moms and daughters too.” That gentle encouragement became the beginning of everything.
A family that sews together
What started as a shared idea around the kitchen table grew into a small family brand. Rachel brought the design eye and the lived experience of nursing and mothering. David brought steady support and the practical side of building something lasting. The children — especially Lily — kept the heart of the project clear: clothes that let mothers and daughters feel connected, comfortable, and a little bit special.
Today every collection still carries that original intention. We design stylish, comfortable, and fun dresses so mothers and their daughters can enjoy the simple pleasure of matching — not just for photos, but for everyday moments that matter.
